Students should never take holidays during term time. The College calendar is published a year in advance on the website. Parents/carers have a legal responsibility to ensure their child is at school during term time.
The Law states that only in exceptional circumstances may the College give permission for a student to take time off school during term time. Term dates are published a year in advance.
A holiday form must be obtained from the Head of Year. Upon receipt of the form the College will make the decision whether approval is justified. Any student going on holiday during term time will be expected to make up all missed work and/or take work on holiday with them
Parents' may not remove children from school for term time holidays
iHead teachers (or their designated representative acting on their behalf) may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Head teachers are required to determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted.
If, for exceptional reasons, you wish to take your child out of college during term time you must complete an S2 form and submit it well in advance to your child’s Year Head

Poor attendance: PLEASE NOTE that *attendance below 90% makes a child persistent absentee and that this will mean the college will take action. Poor attendance hinders progress and teachers will be unable to cover the work again. You should aim for 100% attendance by your child who will be rewarded with awards and prizes for achieving this.
