Business Studies

A Level

Board Edexcel

Business Studies is central to the economy and well-being of the UK.  It is no surprise therefore that Business Studies is one of the most popular subjects offered by all the examinations boards. This is because it not only stands alone as an interesting, challenging and relevant subject in which to gain a qualification and open so many doors but also compliments so many other subject areas.

You will learn 4 themes of Business.  Marketing and People, Managing business activities, Business decision and Global business.  This will enable you to have a grasp of a variety of theories, models and concepts that are the cornerstone of Business Studies.

Business Studies leads students in many directions.  Some students decide to continue their studies at university.  Other students have the confidence and knowledge to set up their own businesses.  Many students have gone onto apprenticeships.

A popular choice is to couple business with another subject and take that route for example add Business to Modern Foreign Languages and think about a career in International Business; add it to Maths and a career in Accounting or Statistical Analysis could be yours.

For those with a creative nature the world of Marketing opens up before you, the possibilities are almost endless.

Here is what some former students have to say

“I secured an apprenticeship at an Estate Agents, having Business Studies gave me an understanding of how business works.  It also gave me the skills and confidence to be a good communicator.”Beth

“I have gone to university to continue studying business.  My ultimate goal is to start my own company.  Having business studies on my CV will undoubtedly help me” Tom
