BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care


Are you interested in a career where you will be working with children or adults within a helping capacity? Does being a social worker, teacher, paramedic, carer, occupational therapist, midwife, nurse, mental health nurse, dental nurse, nursery worker, special needs worker or paediatric nurse interest you?  If so, this course could be for you.

You will be assessed through two externally assessed exams and two course work units marked internally.


Next steps:


This two-year course is equivalent to one A level and will be taken alongside other qualifications. On completion of this course you may choose to enter employment or, depending on your overall grades, progress to higher education.

What qualifications do I need to get onto the course?

5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above with two being in English and maths


Subject specific entry requirements or recommendations: 

A GSCE or BTEC in Health and Social Care or Child Development is helpful but certainly not essential. What is most important is that you have a keen interest in people and enjoy being around people and helping people.
