P16 Home Introducing Post 16  Support Activities About Courses Level 2 Courses  Level 3 Courses  Open Evening Contact Us

At Exmouth Community College we follow a personalised approach to students, so each student has a tutor who will help formulate an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to support success. We value all students equally; whatever courses they take or grades they have achieved, they all contribute to the community. Teachers and students work hard  together to achieve academic excellence, but we never lose our focus on students as individuals, and take huge pride in their achievements.

We encourage all students to participate in extra-curricular experiences both for self development and for fun, which enhance the individual and your CV: current examples range from the Duke of Edinburgh award to trips to China and South Africa!  We want all our students to aim high and so we provide advice and guidance on all aspects of applying for a career, gap-year, or university.

In the end, whether a student is here for one or three years, we want them to look back on their time with us as a great period in their lives when they invested their talents and efforts in giving themselves the best possible foundation for future success.

Tutor Support

Every student has a personal tutor and one period a week is set aside for tutorial work.  Your tutor will monitor and support you through your Post 16 education.

Supporting studies, and creating the

stepping stones for Post 18

We understand how difficult it can be to make the transition into the new styles of learning and levels of study necessary. Support is always available-we are proud that our teachers have the reputation of always going the extra mile,-and we have designed a process to help students get up to speed.

We want all our students to aim high and so we provide advice and guidance on all aspects of applying for a career, gap-year, or university.

Magnolia Incentive:bursary scheme

Exmouth Community College has a unique bursary scheme set up by ex-students of this College. Each year a number of students benefit from both mentoring and financial help with HE funding from  the Magnolia Incentive. The organisation is growing  and more opportunities are created every year as more ex-students  become involved.
