A Level

Exam Board: WJEC

Are you interested in learning about a huge and global industry?  In this course you

develop personal and communication skills.  The course builds on the previous successful and popular A level in Travel & Tourism and is its replacement (in line with changes to other Post 16 courses).  The course places great emphasis on practical study trips and visits.  In the past a residential trip to London organised by the students has proved popular.

There are many opportunities for employment in this industry or for further study beyond Post 16.

What’s in the course?

The Level 3 tourism course will cover a number of units over the two years including

The Event and Itinerary unit looks at planning and organising an event.  In the past students have organised a London residential trip and have taken full responsibility for budgeting, transport, accommodation and an itinerary of places to visit.  This gives a chance to put into practice skills you have learnt during the course.

What qualifications do I need?

This course is open to anyone with the normal College Post 16 entry requirements. This course is suitable for learners with or without previous experience in Leisure and Tourism.
