Our extended curriculum was nationally recognised by visiting Education Ministers as an example of good practice.As the standard day finishes at 3.00 pm our students are encouraged to develop their skills and experience through our extensive range of sporting and other club activities including Caving, Rock Climbing, Cycling, Theatre and Theme Park visits, Art, Drama, Music and Dance.Computer Club runs after college to 4.00 pm.
We have our own Youth Office which organises a full programme of clubs and activities for young people in Exmouth from age 8 to 18.The activities take place at the end of the school day, at weekends and during the holidays, including trips abroad.
Visits, Trips and Adventure
Students also have the opportunity to extend their experiences via activities organised by Subject Departments and Teams which include Foreign Exchange Visits, Drama, Sports and ‘Taster’ sessions as well as a wide range of Field Trips, Theatre Visits, Work Experience in Europe, Science Clubs, Poetry, Public Speaking, Spelling and Chess Clubs.
The summer term ends with a highly successful activities week involving all students and staff.A full list of activities is published in January. The activities includetrips to Paris and Italy, scuba diving,horse riding on Dartmoor, cake decorating,kite making, producing a video film, tall ship sailing and manyothers.
Students work hard at the College and so they are entitled to celebrate the end of their year 11 exams before they move on to the next stage of their education/training.The Year 11 Prom has become part of the Exmouth calendar as students arrive at the Pavilion in stretch limousines dressed in fabulous evening wear.
