Our 16-19 tuition fund is being targeted at supporting our disadvantaged students.  

We have established digital and face to face revision sessions for English and Maths GCSE retakes; ensuring each individual student can access the subject that they need within their college timetable. 

There are also one-to-one sessions provided for EHCP and K plan students to deliver individualised support for those students in their retakes.

Disadvantaged and SEND students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths who are working in College are also prioritised for support with the work set from their teachers through 1:1 or small group sessions. 

By using the tuition fund to increase the capacity of our 16 - 19 team we are able to keep in regular contact with the students to provide support academically, supporting their access to remote learning and checking in on their wellbeing during this difficult time. 

Over time, and once we are confident that those learners undertaking re-takes are on track, we are aiming to provide literacy boost sessions (literacy skills, essay writing skills, essay structuring) for targeted students who lack skills and confidence in this area.
