Health & Safety
Students must ensure that they follow the Health and Safety guidelines for the College at all times. This will mean that all students and staff at the College can work in a safe environment.
Students are expected to:
- Exercise personal responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others
- Observe standards of dress consistent with safety and/or hygiene, as detailed within the appropriate curriculum safety guidelines
- Observe all the health and safety rules of the College and, in particular, the instructions of staff given in an emergency
- Use and not wilfully misuse, neglect or interfere with things provided for their health and safety
The key rules are:
- Follow the instructions of staff at all times
- Understand and remember where the evacuation routes are from each classroom and where to assemble if there is a fire
- Know that an intermittent vocal alert means remain in a classroom
- Do not run around the site at any time
- Report any dangers or dangerous behaviour on the site to a member of staff immediately
- Look out for the safety of each other
- Do not enter a classroom without a teacher
- Eat healthily and drink plenty of water during the day. (Free fresh water is available at break and lunchtimes)
