Parent/Carer Update
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you and your families are well.
Just a quick message to say thank you so much for all your support over the last few weeks in helping us to ensure students are wearing face coverings around the whole site unless they are in lessons or eating.
The students have been amazing all week, and we are really proud of how they have responded. Collectively almost all students are wearing face coverings and those few that aren't either have an exemption (which is absolutely fine) or very quickly put it right with a gentle reminder.
We are continuing to urge students to wear face coverings on school transport and I'm sure, in response to ours and other schools concerns, school transport have now made face coverings a condition of travel and so students must wear the covering at all times to protect everyone on the journey or potentially face being removed from the bus.
We have also been monitoring the area around the Granary closely and so again thanks for your support in getting children to go home straight after school. We have had a senior member of staff there most nights for over a week and students are moving on far more quickly now.
One thing we have noticed is that it is still really busy on Withycombe Road from 3:00 to 3.30pm despite students being released at different times. We have had some of our students trying to ride their bikes on the pavement with lots of primary school children around and our students sometimes walking a little bit inconsiderately towards the younger children particularly while walking and looking at their phone! So if you can have a conversation with your child about being respectful to the community at all times I would appreciate it.
Please note that this Friday (23rd October) is a non-pupil day.
Thanks again for all your support this week.
Regards
Andrew Davis
