Health and Social Care
The Health and Care department has had a busy couple of weeks with guest speakers and enrichment activities.
Years 10 and 12 Health and Social Care students had a visit from midwife, Louisa Coates, who spoke about the role of a midwife and brought in lots of interesting props (3 pictures attached)
Year 12 Health and Social Care students had a deaf awareness talk from Assistant Principal, Mark Stocks, from the Deaf Academy. The students had a brief introduction to sign language and practised finger spelling. (1 picture attached of Mark and the Year 12's)
Year 12 child development students are completing a paediatric first aid training course with the talented Miss Appleton, who is not only their teacher but a qualified first aid trainer too (2 pics attached).
Next week continues with enrichment activities with a trip to the Deaf Academy and Exmouth House Care home.
It is so lovely for the students to be able to engage in extra curricula activities again!
